ABOUT INDOGENIUS
Authorship Criteria
INDOGENIUS JOURNAL follows the authorship criteria established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authorship is based on substantial scholarly contributions to the work and involves both accountability and responsibility for the published content. All individuals designated as authors must meet all four of the following criteria:
-
Substantial Contribution: The author must have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
-
Drafting or Critical Revision: The author must have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
-
Final Approval: The author must have approved the final version of the manuscript to be published.
-
Accountability: The author must agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Responsibilities of Authors
All authors must fulfill the four authorship criteria. Individuals who meet these criteria should be listed as authors, and all listed authors must approve the submitted manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating communication with the editorial office and ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission to INDOGENIUS JOURNAL.
Contributors Who Do Not Qualify for Authorship
Individuals who contribute to the work but do not meet all four authorship criteria should not be listed as authors. Their contributions may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, with their permission. Examples include administrative support, general supervision, language editing, technical assistance, or funding acquisition alone.
Authorship Order and Changes
The order of authors should be agreed upon by all authors before submission and should reflect their collective agreement regarding their contributions. Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission must be justified in writing and approved by all authors concerned, including those being added or removed. The editorial office reserves the right to request supporting documentation when authorship disputes arise.
Research Integrity and Accountability
All authors are responsible for the integrity of the research and the accuracy of the manuscript. Honorary, guest, or gift authorship is not permitted. Ghost authorship, in which individuals who meet the authorship criteria are omitted, is also prohibited. Any suspected authorship dispute or misconduct will be handled in accordance with applicable publication ethics guidance, including COPE recommendations. By submitting a manuscript to INDOGENIUS JOURNAL, the corresponding author confirms that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria, have approved the final manuscript, and agree to take responsibility for the integrity of the work.
