Triggered mainly by the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), this condition causes airway inflammation, mucus obstruction, and respiratory distress that can rapidly progress to oxygenation failure. While most cases are self-limiting, inadequate nursing interventions often lead to prolonged illness and complications. Therefore, implementing evidence-based nursing strategies, including observation, education, therapeutic, and collaborative approaches, is essential to ensure comprehensive respiratory management and faster recovery in affected infants.

Objective: This study aims to analyse the implementation of nursing care strategies through observation, education, therapeutic, and collaborative approaches to optimize respiratory management and recovery in infants with bronchiolitis.

Method: This study used a literature review design by analysing six relevant articles published between 2021 and 2025 obtained from Google Scholar. The literature selection followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, focusing on the implementation of nursing strategies in managing respiratory problems in bronchiolitis.

Result: The review found that observation was the most frequently applied nursing intervention, serving as the foundation for assessing physiological responses. Therapeutic and collaborative actions, such as chest physiotherapy, semi-fowler, positioning, nebulization, and oxygen therapy, were effective in improving oxygen saturation and reducing respiratory effort. Educational interventions, although less common, significantly strengthened family involvement and awareness of home care practices. The integration of these four strategies enhanced recovery, improved comfort, and demonstrated measurable clinical benefits for infants with bronchiolitis.

Conclusion: The balanced and evidence-based application of observation, education, therapeutic, and collaborative strategies strengthens nursing care quality, accelerates respiratory recovery, and reinforces the nurse’s essential role in holistic management of bronchiolitis
Kezia Octavina Siagian , Angelica Juliani, Permaida, Meylona Verawati Zendrato Copyright (c) 2026 Kezia Octavina Siagian , Angelica Juliani, Permaida, Meylona Verawati Zendrato https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://genius.inspira.or.id/index.php/gj/article/view/951 Fri, 26 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Differences in Dysmenorrhea Levels among Female Adolescent Users of Conventional and Electronic Cigarettes https://genius.inspira.or.id/index.php/gj/article/view/963
Introduction: Dysmenorrhea is a common reproductive health problem among adolescent females and is often associated with various lifestyle factors, including smoking behavior. The increasing use of conventional cigarettes and electronic cigarettes among young women raises concerns regarding their potential impact on menstrual pain.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the level of dysmenorrhea between adolescent females who use conventional cigarettes and those who use electronic cigarettes.

Method: This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and involved 70 respondents aged 15–24 years in Sumedang Regency, consisting of 35 conventional cigarette users and 35 electronic cigarette users. The rising number of CHF cases at Depati Hamzah General Hospital highlights the need to identify factors associated with the increase in CHF incidence.

Objective: This study aims to determine the factors associated with the increase in CHF at Depati Hamzah General Hospital, Pangkalpinang, in 2025.

Method: The research method used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 169 patients was selected using quota sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires and medical records, then analyzed using the Chi-square test with a significance level of α = 0.05.

Result: The results showed a significant association between age (p = 0.006), gender (p = 0.007), hypertension (p = 0.000), and smoking (p = 0.005).

Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that education about the factors of CHF plays a crucial role in preventing CHF from an early age. This includes consuming a healthy diet, exercising frequently/engaging in physical activity, quitting smoking, and regularly checking with the nearest health facility.
Nabilah Ambarsari, H. Despite growing awareness of the need for hemodynamic control, variations in MAP across different patient characteristics and surgical types remain insufficiently documented in clinical practice.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate intraoperative MAP patterns in patients undergoing general anesthesia and to identify variations based on demographic and clinical factors.

Method: A descriptive observational design was applied to 61 elective surgical patients with ASA physical status I–II at RSI Sultan Agung Semarang. Intraoperative MAP measurements were recorded using standardized patient monitoring systems. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

Result: The mean intraoperative MAP was 69.49 ± 4.32 mmHg. Although most respondents maintained normotensive values, 8.2% experienced hypotension below the 65 mmHg threshold. Higher MAP values were observed in patients aged 41–50 years, those with ASA II status, and those undergoing lower abdominal surgery. Lower MAP values were more common in urology procedures and among ASA I patients.

Conclusion: Although the overall MAP level remained within the acceptable clinical range, the presence of intraoperative hypotension in a subset of patients underscores the importance of proactive, individualized hemodynamic monitoring. Variations in MAP across demographic and surgical factors highlight the need for patient-specific hemodynamic targets to ensure optimal intraoperative safety.
Suyanti, Yuli Widyastuti, Indah Nur Aisyah Copyright (c) 2026 Suyanti, Yuli Widyastuti, Indah Nur Aisyah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://genius.inspira.or.id/index.php/gj/article/view/958 Thu, 08 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Analysis of the Use of the SOFA Score in Predicting Mortality among Critically III Patients https://genius.inspira.or.id/index.php/gj/article/view/996
Introduction: Sepsis is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in critical patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Delays in identifying organ dysfunction are an important factor that increases the risk of death. The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) Score is an assessment tool that is widely used to measure the extent of organ damage and predict mortality in sepsis patients.

Objective: To know the output results of sepsis and sepsis shock patients and which indicators of the SOFA Score affect the patient's output.

Methods: Quantitative research with a retrospective cohort design with a total population of 102 patients with a sample of 53 patients assisted by scoring assessment using the MDCalc application.

Results: overall output experienced mortality with the indicators that affected the SOFA Score score, namely; MAP, FiO2, Ventilator Use, Billirubin, and GCS. Other indicators that affect output include; RR, Glucose, and Leukocytes.

Conclusion: This study confirms that SOFA Score can be used as an effective prediction tool to assess the prognosis of sepsis patients, as well as sepsis shock so that it can assist health workers in clinical decision-making and therapy planning more appropriately.
Reyshar Pratama Putra, Andi Subandi, Putri Irwanti Sari, Nurhusna, Yosi Oktarina Copyright (c) 2026 Reyshar Pratama Putra, Andi Subandi, Putri Irwanti Sari, Nurhusna, Yosi Oktarina https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://genius.inspira.or.id/index.php/gj/article/view/996 Thu, 08 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0700
